Lighthouse Mixed-Use Development
Detroit, Michigan

Built Form provided master planning services for a joint venture of Hines Interests and General Motors for a new mixed-use community development along the shores of the Detroit River in downtown Detroit, Michigan. As the initial component in the new development, Built Form developed the design and detailed construction drawings for the Lighthouse mixed-use project. The design consists of a 19 story residential building component with enclosed parking, street-level townhomes, a large amenity terrace, and a proposed Michigan Sports Hall of Fame. Using the riverfront site as inspiration for the architectural design and relating the structure to the immediate urban context and neighboring General Motors Plaza, the new structure was designed to be the anchor for the overall multi-use project to be developed along the river over the coming years.
