The Edge Condominiums

The Edge is a two phase residential project located on the Milwaukee River in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Phase I consists of a six story, 73 unit building, 114 parking spaces, a landscaped public plaza and a new extension of the public Riverwalk.
The site is defined by an 8 story steel bridge to the south and 2.5 story brick townhomes to the north. The east elevation faces the river while the west faces Commerce Street and the hillside. Upon studying the site it became clear that the primary challenge would be developing a solution that could reconcile the diversity of scales and materials that define the site.
